SE Division Restorative Justice Project (SCIF)
The SE Division Restorative Justice Project provides a restorative justice program, community conferencing for youth who have committed a crime. It is a partnership with Edmonton Police Service, and Alberta Justice. The Solicitor General Office has an associate membership with the program. The community conference process allows youth to take accountability for their behaviour/crime, the victim and supporters to address the impact the crime has had on them and for the youth to repair the harm caused. The project works parallel to the court system.
See the Edmonton Police Service brochure to learn more about the restorative justice program.
Best Practices Workshop
ACTS has been involved in providing Best Pratices workshop over the past 2 years. The workshops are to develop a Provincial dialogue about best practices, standards and principles for Restorative Justice. ACTS has partnered with Alberta Restorative Justice Association (ARJA) to provide workshop and get a Provincial representation.
